Tuner Battle is a premium Show & Shine comp co-presented by TMSS Motorsport & RPM Auto Services which is only for 'purpose built race cars and street racers' that are show worthy. 'Show worthy' meaning, exterior, interior and engine bay must exquisitely built to standards.

Purpose built race cars are vehicles that are not road registered and are built specifically for racing, which can be from any type of motor racing (Drag, Track or Drift).
Street Racers are road registered race cars that are show worthy, must have fully custom engine bay, neat exterior and race interior.

These are the pre-requisites to be considered as an entry. We are looking for the country's BEST rides in these classes to compete for the ultimate prize!

This competition will be hosted and judged on both days of the idle Auto Fest show @ Mall Of Africa. It will run simultaneously to the other Show & Shine comps over the weekend but would have its own sponsor/s, classes and prizes. Our judges are carefully chosen and all have extensive experience with race cars. If Tuner Battle don't apply to you, then we do have other Show & Shine comps/ categories for other types of vehicles over the weekend, please see below

NOTE

All show cars will need to be on display from Friday 20 May 2022 (Setup day).
Once the cars have been parked, they may NOT be moved for the full 2-day duration of the show until Sunday 6pm. There is overnight basement parking (ONLY if there is any bad weather forecasted overnight)
Exhibitors can also enter the cars that's on their display booths. Judging will be done at your booths.
There will be Event security and Mall security to ensure safety of all vehicles.
During show times owners or a representative must man their vehicles.
There is strict Rules & Regulations to be adhered to.

COVID DATE

Due to the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, changes to the scheduled show date to a later date may be brought on by the South African Government, event promoters or local authorities. In such cases, we will communicate this to you as soon as possible.

BEST PURPOSE BUILT RACE CAR

The best vehicle from this subcategory. Vehicle must have the full package (exquisitely built engine, interior & exterior)

BEST STREET RACER

The best vehicle from this subcategory. Vehicle must have the full package (exquisitely built engine, interior & exterior)

BEST EXTERIOR

The best vehicle between the 2(two) subcategories with the best exterior. Points will be awarded for custom exterior mods, paint job, build quality and neatness.

BEST INTERIOR

The vehicle with the best race interior. Points will be awarded for roll cage build quality, race seats, dash etc.

BEST RACE WHEEL

The vehicle with the best wheel and how it suits the vehicle/application.

BEST ENGINE BAY

The vehicle with the neatest bay. Points will be awarded for custom mods and build quality.

BEST SOUNDING RACE CAR

The vehicle that sounds the best. During the 2(two) day show there will be specific times allocated for a warm up of the vehicle and a quick rev whilst the judges are present. NB. The venue has noise restrictions hence strict rules and regulations must be adhered to.

MOST INGENIOUS BUILD

This prize is awarded to the Tuning house/Tuner that built the best vehicle from the Tuner Battle category.

HOW TO ENTER...

There are 2 (two) processes to enter the comp, the REGISTRATION ENTRY & the OFFICIAL ENTRY. Pre-Entry is compulsory.

REGISTRATION ENTRY (FIRST PROCESS)

Use the Registration Tab below to register your ride.
Our registration for Tuner Battle is limited to 30 entries.
Registration is FREE (No costs involved)
When your entry is received you will be notified.
Once all 30 entries are received our in-house judges will choose the Top12.

OFFICIAL ENTRY - ONLY FOR TOP12 (SECOND PROCESS)

Once our judges have determined the Top12, they will be notified of their selection for the Official Entry.
The Top12 competitors will need to pay an Entry Fee of R250.00 per vehicle for the entry to be valid.
Once payment is received, we will then broadcast the Top12 on our social media platforms.
We then take the Top12 vehicles and make a prominent exhibition of Automotive Quality at the show. They will compete for bragging rights and great prizes.
Winners to be announced at our 'on-stage' prize giving.
